Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience for a Level II Adult Trauma Center night shift position.

Details

• Work in a community teaching hospital and Level II Adult Trauma Center setting
• Adult patient population within Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department units
• Float to Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred
• Dark grey scrub color required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required with Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience
• Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required, if applicable
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, RRT
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skilled in medication delivery including Albuterol, Atrovent, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, and Spiriva
• Proficient in oxygen therapy including bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, trach collar, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in chest physiotherapy including Vest therapy, drawing/interpreting ABGs, and nebulizer treatments
• Experience with airway management including extubation, intubation assist, and nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning
• Proficient in tracheostomy care and management and sputum specimen collection
• Experience with equipment including Hamilton G5, Puritan Bennett 980 (PB980), Philips Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis Tx, CoughAssist, The Vest Airway Clearance System, and IPV
• PA Fingerprints required for consideration
• Valid references and certification copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care services to critically ill adult patients in critical care and emergency department settings
• Perform tracheostomy care, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene as part of daily responsibilities
• Work within a Level II Adult Trauma Center providing comprehensive emergency, medical, surgical, and specialty care
• Part of a health system that is affiliated with one of the nation's largest academic health systems
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted with a reduced rate for those residing within 50 miles of the facility
