Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of cardiac ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a teaching hospital
• Patient ratios approximately 1:1-2
• Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts available
• 36-hour weekly schedule with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Sat/Sun for day shift, Fri/Sat for night shift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps
• Additional preferred skills include ECMO care, Impella, IABP management, and CVVHD/CRRT
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response as needed
• Manage complex cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and post-op cardiac surgical care
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with initial application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, with in-state travel or mailed fingerprinting packet required depending on distance from Ohio
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
