Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float Pool RN for night shifts requiring prior travel experience and Level I trauma center ICU background.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a hospital setting on night shift
• Float coverage across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
• Also cares for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• 48 hours per week available for candidates interested in additional hours
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma center ICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience floating across a variety of ICU units highly desired
• Current AHA or RQI certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required
• Minimum one reference within the past year from a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references not accepted)
• Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill patients across a wide range of ICU specialties as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccination required with only medical exemptions accepted; personal or religious declinations not permitted
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates residing within Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible for this position
