Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2+ years of invasive cardiology experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a high-volume Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 dedicated Electrophysiology labs
- Unit includes 23 prep/recovery bays and completes over 6,000 procedures annually
- Care for patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular treatments including complex coronary procedures, VAD/ECMO, TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping, complex ablations, pacemaker/ICD implants, cardioversion, and peripheral interventions
- Day shift, 10-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- Minimal call required, primarily supporting full-time staff
- May stay until last patient is cared for
- No floating required
- No holiday coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact), PA license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Required Epic EMR experience
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, left and right heart catheterizations, and IABP placement/removal
- Skilled in ACT monitoring, cardioversion, EKG/ECG interpretation, sheath removal, and vascular closure systems
- Experience administering cardiac medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
- Experience with IV therapy including starting/maintaining IVs and blood product administration
- Must complete and pass EKG competency exam within 72 hours of contract signing
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization settings
- Circulate and scrub for procedures as needed
- Monitor patients during procedural sedation using the Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale
- Manage dysrhythmias and administer emergency medications as required
- Practice infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions/PPE
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though local candidates may be offered a lower pay rate
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
