Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night-shift teaching hospital position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- MS/Tele unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- 13-week assignment length
- Epic charting system used and required experience
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN reference is acceptable as the second; coworker references are not accepted
- Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomy care) required
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line and PICC line management required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
- Experience with insulin protocols and wound care required
- Experience in ortho trauma and total joint replacement care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting
- Manage respiratory, cardiac, and orthopedic patient needs including drips, monitoring, and emergency response
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed for patient emergencies
- Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract prior to approval, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
