Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine, requiring 2+ years of experience and ARDMS OB/GYN certification.
Details
- Outpatient maternal fetal medicine clinic setting with 8 rooms and an average daily census of 50
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 13-week contract with potential for extension
- No call requirement
- No float requirement
- No weekend requirement
- Uses GE ultrasound equipment
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification required
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience in High Risk OB and Obstetrics settings required
- Proficiency in 1st-3rd trimester scanning, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa required
- Neonatal head and heart scanning skills required
- Abdominal aorta and appendix scanning skills required
- MCA and UA Dopplers, Viewpoint, and Fetal Echo experience required
- MFM scanning experience required
- Experience with Level 2 detailed anatomy scans required
- Prior travel experience required unless candidate has more than 2 years of relevant experience
- Epic charting system experience required
Additional Information
- Perform perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies including early anatomies, growth scans, BPP, dopplers, NT, TV, and fetal echo
- Patient population includes those with chronic HTN, GDM, growth restriction, and fetal abnormalities
- Preferred skills include portables, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen, amniocentesis, renal/pelvis studies, and small parts ultrasound
- 40 hours of unit orientation scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Scrubs are not provided; royal blue color required
- Candidates must complete required testing within 48 hours of signing
- Pre-start learning modules required, with approximately 8-10 hours for acute care roles, completed online prior to start and annually
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved when not falling on a holiday; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
- Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying and disclose prior employment details
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have more than 2 years of relevant experience
