Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45pm-7:15am)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Level III Trauma facility with 286 total staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue
• No cost parking available
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be considered as non-local; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
