Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45pm-7:15am)
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Tele competency required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Level III Trauma facility with 286 total staffed beds
- Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue
- No cost parking available
- First-time travelers accepted for this position
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be considered as non-local; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
