Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects.
Details
- Pediatric echocardiography position within a children's hospital setting
- Daily caseload of 4-10 patients per tech
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No holiday coverage needed
- Floating required between two locations including a North Charleston clinic
- Uses GE ultrasound equipment (Vivid 95, Pioneer, Voluson) and PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pediatric Echo Tech
- BLS certification required
- Registered Pediatric Sonographer (ARDMS) with PE certification (FE preferred, if applicable), or CCI with RCCS certification required and must be in hand at time of start
- License required if applicable
- Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms with extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects
- Experience with GE ultrasound equipment and PACS system for entering full reports preferred
- Proficiency with fetal echocardiograms highly preferred
- Physician reference highly recommended
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Perform pediatric echocardiogram scanning and reporting for patients with complex congenital heart conditions
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs June through November with peak activity in August and September
