Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother Baby/Postpartum position requiring 2+ years of hospital experience and Newborn Nursery care skills.

Details

• Work in the Postpartum/Newborn Nursery unit of a hospital setting
• Care for high risk antepartum patients as well as postpartum recoveries
• Provides newborn nursery care
• Performs IV placement procedures
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Evening shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (temporary license not accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition)
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
• Newborn Nursery experience required
• Antepartum care experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• RNC-OB and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification are a plus but not required
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum and newborn nursery patients including high risk antepartum cases
• Scrub color requirement is royal blue for RNs
• Nail policy requires clean, healthy nails with no artificial enhancements
• Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
• Body art should be covered whenever feasible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
