Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring 5+ years of experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• >work in the Emergency Room of a 97-bed acute care hospital offering surgical services, medical imaging, and an ICU
• Patient population spans all patients through the age spectrum with standard ER cases
• Uses Meditech EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Rare floating required, limited to units appropriate to skill level or as additional support

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) for Virginia currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and NIHSS
• 5+ years of ER nursing experience required
• Proficient in phlebotomy, IV insertion, EKG, splinting, wound care, and patient transport
• Self-motivated and self-sufficient with the ability to perform all ER tasks independently
• Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach

• Focus on creating a positive experience for patients and families while meeting operational metrics
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
