Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring OR RN licensure and prior IR, cath lab, or critical care experience.
Details
- >Provides specialized nursing care in the Interventional Radiology/Cardiology unit
- Cares for patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, and cardiac catheterization
- Day shift schedule with 3x10-hour shifts weekly (0700-1730)
- May rotate through nursing/circulator, moderate sedation, scrub, and monitor roles as assigned
- May be required to take call for the Interventional Unit as needed
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- Current RN license in the State of Oregon
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- IV certification required
- Minimum one year of experience in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or IR required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- BSN preferred
- Three or more years of Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab experience preferred
- Conscious sedation training and monitor role experience preferred
- Additional certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills preferred
Additional Information
- Administers medications including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs
- Maintains sterile technique and assists physicians during interventional and catheter-based procedures
- Monitors patients undergoing moderate sedation, tracking vital signs, hemodynamics, oxygenation, and level of consciousness
- Collaborates with Rad Tech and physicians on contrast allergy management and appropriate contrast agent selection
- Performs sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed
- Documents procedural details, supplies used, implants, and contrast usage accurately
- Assists with department support duties including supply management, room turnover, and equipment maintenance
- Works collaboratively with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader
