Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring prior charge experience and travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill patients including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (AR or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• NIHSS certification required for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing across cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, and GI patient populations
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
