Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of adult and pediatric critical care experience for a night shift hospital position.

Details

• Work in a hospital respiratory therapy department providing care to both adult and pediatric patients
• Critical care coverage in Emergency Department, Adult ICU, and Pediatric general care units
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• May float to any campus within the health system as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:20

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Adult critical care experience required; pediatric experience preferred
• Emergency Department, Adult ICU, and Pediatric general care experience required; PICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred
• Active NC state RRT license required at time of consideration
• Epic EMR experience required
• Servo I ventilator experience preferred
• Skilled in airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy assistance, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
• First-time travelers will be considered
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients, including airway management and ventilator support
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Administer aerosolized and nebulized medications
• Manage patients with conditions such as ARDS, pneumonia, aspiration, and cystic fibrosis
• Provide tracheostomy care, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene
• Participate in a compliance EKG exam (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
• Complete unit-based orientation modules during onboarding
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
