Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of adult and pediatric critical care experience for a night shift hospital position.
Details
- Work in a hospital respiratory therapy department providing care to both adult and pediatric patients
- Critical care coverage in Emergency Department, Adult ICU, and Pediatric general care units
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- May float to any campus within the health system as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Patient ratio of approximately 1:20
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
- Adult critical care experience required; pediatric experience preferred
- Emergency Department, Adult ICU, and Pediatric general care experience required; PICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred
- Active NC state RRT license required at time of consideration
- Epic EMR experience required
- Servo I ventilator experience preferred
- Skilled in airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy assistance, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
- First-time travelers will be considered
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients, including airway management and ventilator support
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Administer aerosolized and nebulized medications
- Manage patients with conditions such as ARDS, pneumonia, aspiration, and cystic fibrosis
- Provide tracheostomy care, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene
- Participate in a compliance EKG exam (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
- Complete unit-based orientation modules during onboarding
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
