Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience, EPIC proficiency, and telemetry remote monitoring skills.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Primarily Med/Surg patient population on a telemetry-capable unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• 13-week assignment with Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday
• Required to float to all campuses within the health system as needed for patient care

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Telemetry/remote monitoring experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and line management required
• Respiratory care skills including oxygen administration and nasal cannula use required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Must pass a facility-required Pass/Fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed) during compliance

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Facility has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted

• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• Compliance must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
