Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS position at a Level II trauma center, requiring RRT certification and NRP for neonatal care.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma designation, and teaching hospital with 417 beds
• Respiratory Therapy department serving pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
• 6/12 hour variable shift schedule totaling 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Floats throughout the hospital and ED as needed, but not to other facilities unless specifically hired for that role
• On-call typically not required except for planned events
• Uses Epic EMR and Omnicell system
• Equipment includes Draeger V500 and Savina 300 ventilators, 3100A Oscillator, Hamilton C1/MRI, ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level devices, Airvo2 High Flow, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT may be considered based on experience
• South Dakota RCP license required prior to submission (processing time approximately 30 days) - license required if applicable
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP certification required if working in NICU
• AA degree required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review if candidate has strong experience

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric, neonatal, and general inpatient populations
• Supported by Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist available 24/7, along with Supervisors, Manager, and Director
• Orientation provided through the Respiratory Care Department
• Expected to work holidays that fall within the contract dates
• Time off requests of up to 7 days may be approved if the department can accommodate; taking a full week off requires extending the contract
• Pewter-colored scrubs required

• 100-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
