Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS position at a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, requiring RRT and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a teaching hospital with a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Level II Pediatric Trauma designation
- Care for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
- 6/12 hour variable shift schedule totaling 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation of every other weekend
- Floating required throughout the hospital and ED but not to other facilities
- On-call typically only required for planned events
- Uses EPIC charting system and Omnicell
- Works with ventilators including Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, and Hamilton C1/MRI
- Uses ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level, Airvo2 high flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO equipment
Requirements
- RRT required, though CRT may be considered based on experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- AA Degree required
- South Dakota RCP License required prior to submission (license required if applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NRP certification required for NICU assignments
- Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
- First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review with strong experience
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal critical care patients as well as general inpatient respiratory patients
- 24/7 support available on the unit from Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist, Supervisors, Manager, and Director
- Facility-specific orientation provided through the Respiratory Care Department
- Expected to work holidays that fall within the contract dates
- May request up to 7 days of time off if the department can accommodate; taking a full week off requires extending the contract
- Pewter scrub color required
- Free parking available
- 100 mile radius rule applies; local travelers not accepted
- Facility is known for being traveler friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
