Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS certification and at least one year of Level 1 pediatric critical care experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital setting
• Level 1 pediatric critical care patient population
• CVICU and NICU experience preferred
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 pediatric critical care experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, and monitor physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Returning employees may extend only once for a maximum of 26 weeks total, and must have a 6-month separation before reapplying
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines, and candidates must be prepared to complete onboarding requirements promptly
