Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NC or compact RN license, EPIC experience, and remote telemetry monitoring skills.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit primarily caring for a Med/Surg patient population
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- 13-week assignment on Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Scheduled every other weekend and every other holiday
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Required to float to any campus within the health system as needed for patient care
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Telemetry/remote monitoring experience required
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Must pass a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed) regardless of specialty
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
- Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Skilled in colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
- Experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA medication administration
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a telemetry-capable unit primarily serving Med/Surg patients
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- RTO must be submitted with initial application; no requests accepted after submission
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
