Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in stroke/neuro patient care, requiring remote telemetry monitoring experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Specialized care for stroke (neuro) patient population with multiple co-morbidities
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, along with holidays as needed
• Float required across all facility campuses within the health system
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Telemetry remote monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care and management required
• Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs required
• Experience with CVA and nasal cannula patient care
• Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed) as part of compliance requirements

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a diverse inpatient population with a focus on stroke/neuro cases, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local candidates within this radius are accepted
• RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
