Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/PCU day shift position requiring flexibility across departments and an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
- Combined Med-Surg/PCU (Progressive Care) unit caring for adult patients
- Day shift schedule
- 13-week assignment
- Must be willing to flex between Med-Surg, PCU, and Telemetry departments as needed
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
- Experience across Med-Surg, PCU, and Telemetry areas required
Additional Information
- Provide patient and family education using appropriate teaching methods
- Implement patient safety measures including proper use of side rails, restraints, and safe equipment operation
- Follow infection control and isolation procedures, including standard precautions
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses
- Complete physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, including 24-hour order checks
- Communicate effectively during shift change reporting and with other departments
- Report critical lab values to physicians per policy
- Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of unit equipment
