Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work in a hospital's Emergency Department, providing care in a general adult/pediatric combined setting
• Level I and II Trauma Center environment with exposure to shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, and traumatic injuries
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be floated to any campus within the health system
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify residential address

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of cases including trauma, cardiac events, stroke, and pediatric emergencies
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Responsibilities may include triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of dysrhythmias
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
