Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a strong cardiac background and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• >Works in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
• Cares for a heavy cardiac and CVA patient population
• Day shift schedule with options of 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips, including heparin and nitro
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in-hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Current Nursys verification required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Strong cardiac care background required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management for PCU patients
• Complete facility orientation modules, averaging 2-3 hours, during the first day of orientation
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to accepting an offer
