Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Ortho RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active TN or compact RN license.

• >Medical Surgical Combination unit within a 167-bed Level III Trauma Center hospital
• Specializes in Ortho, Post-Operative, and Med/Surg care
• Common diagnoses include post-operative joint, bariatric, and GI patients as well as trauma cases
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients aged 13 and older
• Patient ratios range from 4-6:1 across 23 beds
• Uses Meditech EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• >Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• ASN degree required
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to start
• Strong assessment skills preferred
• Teamwork and customer service skills required

Additional Information

• >Provide care for post-operative joint, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients on a combined Med/Surg-Ortho unit
• Facility is a 167-bed, Level III Trauma Center accredited by The Joint Commission
• Scrubs may be any color; T-shirts must display hospital logo and acrylic nails are not permitted
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• Hardworking, compassionate candidates who are willing to ask questions are preferred
