Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN - Labor & Delivery/OB requiring an active AK RN license and current NRP and Fetal Monitoring certifications.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment in a hospital OB/Labor and Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule
• Cares for patients ranging from birth to elderly
• Utilizes medical equipment including Fetal Monitor and Datascope
• Works in collaboration with Charge Nurse, Unit Secretaries, and OB Techs

Requirements

• Active AK RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with 1-2 years of recent OB experience preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Current BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• National Certification in Obstetrics preferred
• Knowledge of AWHONN standards required
• Must arrive with documentation of required competencies including IV/Central Line care, fall precautions, age-specific care, abuse/neglect recognition, pain management, blood transfusions, and infant abduction protocols
• Must pass a medication calculation math test for adults and pediatrics upon arrival
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for delivering patient care through the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Applies age-specific and culturally competent care practices
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Serves as a clinical resource when needed
• Orientation is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
• Hospital-provided shared housing available with private bedrooms and common spaces (male or female units only, no pets allowed)
• Flight reimbursement provided for economy travel to and from the assignment, with documentation required prior to start
• Facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but not for departure
• Located in a remote area of Alaska
