Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehabilitation position requiring 2 years of experience and travel nursing background.
Details
- Work in the Rehab unit of an inpatient rehabilitation hospital
- Patient population includes those recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgeries, debilitating conditions, and brain injuries
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- May float to Long-term Acute Care (LTAC) or other hospital units to manage med-surg patients
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CPI and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- LTAC experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience managing CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and pre/post neurosurgery patients
- Experience with tracheostomy care, nasal cannula, and respiratory management
- Experience with ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and post cardiac surgery care
- Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management
- Experience with surgical drains and cardiac monitoring
- Familiarity with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitative care to patients recovering from significant medical events or illnesses
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop individualized care plans
- Emphasize family involvement and education throughout the patient's recovery journey
- Utilize advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates residing in certain nearby counties are not eligible for this position
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- All requested time off must be submitted for consideration
- No time off approved during the first week of orientation
- Up to 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
