Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I/II Trauma experience and combined Adult/Pediatric ED background at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined Adult/Pediatric patient populations
- Care for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- 13-week assignment length
- Weekend requirement every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within service line and between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities as needed
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 52 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 1 year of acute ED experience required
- Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
- Combined Adult/Pediatric ED experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
- Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience administering continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury cases
- Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience with ortho-trauma and gunshot wound cases
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols
- Two professional references from within the last 24 months required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across the full patient age spectrum in a fast-paced Level I trauma setting
- Manage dysrhythmias, respiratory emergencies, and trauma cases including gunshot wounds
- Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available onsite
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- Requests for time off greater than 3 days require management approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must have a break in service of at least 1 year before being eligible
- Facility is the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
