Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of experience and an active CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care hospital
- Patient ratios average 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:5 weekends
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date, pending license accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital)
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience with non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center setting
- Facility has over 1,000 staffed beds
- Travelers must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital site
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved for auto offers
