Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab Unit position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting specializing in stroke, orthopedic, brain injury, and other complex recovery cases
- Rehab unit with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6 to 1:7
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
- May float to Long-term Acute Care (LTAC) or other hospital units to manage med-surg patients
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS and BLS; CPI and NIHSS preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care, nasal cannula, and respiratory management preferred
- Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred
- Experience with post cardiac surgery and renal failure/hemodialysis management preferred
- Familiarity with rapid response and code team protocols preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver individualized, multidisciplinary rehabilitative care in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and support staff
- Support patient recovery from stroke, orthopedic surgery, brain injury, and other debilitating conditions
- Utilize advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
- Emphasize family involvement and patient education throughout the recovery process
- Uphold patient safety, dignity, and respect in all care activities
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted for this travel position
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for this position
- Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved, and RTO is not permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers may be considered based on experience
