Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a passing EKG exam score.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister campus depending on booking
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Travel pairs not accepted for this unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (State of NC or Compact) currently in hand, pending license not accepted
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam with no exceptions
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to progressive care patients requiring step-down level monitoring
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the main campus to be eligible as a local candidate
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days, with only 1 holiday approved, subject to manager discretion
- Previous travelers must have been gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Contract extensions limited to twice for night shift, after which travelers must wait 6 months before reapplying
- Non-billable modules (4-10 hours) must be completed prior to start
