Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a passing EKG exam and NC/compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a short-term acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to sister campus or hospital departments based on facility needs
- Uses Epic EMR system
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must pass EKG exam prior to start, no exceptions
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Level III Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
- Provide progressive/telemetry-level nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered as travelers
- RTO is subject to manager's discretion
- Holiday coverage required, limited to one approved holiday per contract
- Previous employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- Extension limit of two contracts for night shift positions, followed by a required 6-month break before reapplying
