Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure at a long-term acute care hospital.
Details
- Long-term acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to sister campus or like units depending on booking
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact) required and currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Respiratory care skills including care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with wound care and wound vac management
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance for this specialty
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- Provide direct patient care on a med/surg telemetry unit including line management, respiratory care, and cardiac monitoring
- Assist with wound care and wound vac management as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered as a local hire
- RTO is subject to manager discretion, with a maximum of 4 days and only 1 holiday approved per assignment
- Returning staff must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Contract extensions limited to 2 for day shift and 3 for night shift; travelers must wait 6 months after reaching extension limits before reapplying
