Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure at a long-term acute care hospital.

Details

• Long-term acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to sister campus or like units depending on booking
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact) required and currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory care skills including care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance for this specialty
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Provide direct patient care on a med/surg telemetry unit including line management, respiratory care, and cardiac monitoring
• Assist with wound care and wound vac management as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered as a local hire
• RTO is subject to manager discretion, with a maximum of 4 days and only 1 holiday approved per assignment
• Returning staff must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Contract extensions limited to 2 for day shift and 3 for night shift; travelers must wait 6 months after reaching extension limits before reapplying
