Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) unit of a long-term care hospital
- Facility has 66 total staffed beds
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs and between like units, including sister campus depending on booking
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact) currently in hand - pending license not accepted
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports, central line care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, feeding tube care and management, PCA management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac management
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide skilled nursing care to long-term acute care patients requiring extended recovery and monitoring
- Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered for this position
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- RTO limited to a maximum of 4 days with approval for only 1 holiday, at manager's discretion
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- Travelers on day shift may extend their contract once; night shift travelers may extend up to twice, after which a 6-month break is required before reapplying
