Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in an LTAC hospital setting requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital with 66 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including floating between like units, hospital departments, or sister campus depending on booking
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic charting system
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, oxygen administration, wound care/wound vac, and telemetry monitoring
• Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for this specialty
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in an LTAC setting
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Maximum RTO of 4 days, with approval at manager's discretion; only 1 holiday may be approved off
• Holiday coverage required for unapproved holidays
• Facility allows extension of contract once for day shift or twice for night shift, after which a 6-month break is required before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must have been gone for 1 year to return as a traveler if previously employed at the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals are not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
