Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a hybrid Acute Care Hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and orthopedic background.

Details

• Hybrid role providing both inpatient rehabilitation and acute care coverage
• Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, post-operative, and ICU patients
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with no weekends required
• Ability to float between Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care units, and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby depending on volume/census
• Uses standard equipment including bed alarms, call lights, crutches, gait belts, hospital/specialty beds, walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, sliding boards, and supplemental oxygen delivery

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• IN state license required if applicable
• Orthopedic experience preferred, including total hip and total knee replacement care
• Experience with geriatric and neurology populations preferred
• Skilled in assessment techniques including AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, and strength testing
• Proficient in documentation including evaluations, plan of care, short and long-term goals, and reassessments
• Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include providing rehabilitative care across inpatient and acute care settings for a variety of patient populations
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Maximum RTO is 7 days; if requested during holidays, must be willing to work 1 of the 3 holiday days
• Local candidates accepted; those living within 50 miles of the hospital are considered local and receive a rate differential
• Candidates who previously worked directly for the facility must have been separated for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Completion of up to 8 hours of orientation modules within 1 week of signing is preferred
