Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Spine) position requiring Ortho experience and a SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
- Unit provides integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support
- Patient population includes Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE cases
- Performs special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend requirement (6 weekend shifts)
- Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active SC or multistate RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Orthopedic experience required
- 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Dysrhythmia certification preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive post-surgical care for patients following spinal procedures, including pain management and mobility support
- Work within a regional community teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted, subject to radius rule criteria
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Weekly orientation and annual compliance training required
- Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
