Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Spine) position requiring Ortho experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Unit provides integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support
• Patient population includes Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE cases
• Performs special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement (6 weekend shifts)
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or multistate RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Orthopedic experience required
• 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Dysrhythmia certification preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive post-surgical care for patients following spinal procedures, including pain management and mobility support
• Work within a regional community teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, subject to radius rule criteria
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Weekly orientation and annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
