Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring an IL RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Proficient in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

• Maximum RTO of 3 days, with no time off allowed during the first or last week of the contract
• Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls locations must have a 7-month gap before returning as a traveler
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) are completed during onboarding
