Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an ICU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring 2 years of recent ICU acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No block scheduling available
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Mandatory float facility - ICU RNs float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
• May be asked to float to Medical-Surgical units if needed to support staffing
• First week includes orientation and precepting shift on day shift
• Floating may extend to other facilities within 50 miles, with notification as little as 2 hours prior to shift start
• Uses Cerner charting system
• EndoTool skill preferred

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand upon consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE required
• Two professional references required prior to start, from most recent employers, with one from the most recent employer and only one reference accepted per employer
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting supporting multiple critical care units
• Team-based care model implemented when floated outside primary competency area
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO approved on weekends
• No holiday RTO permitted, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates accepted and preferred within 75 miles of the facility
• Returning clinicians must undergo full recredentialing and orientation, even if the break in contract was less than 30 days
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• First-time travelers are not specifically excluded but travel experience is not required
