Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring TN or compact licensure and prior charting in Epic.

• ,Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:30-07:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedule options available
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team involvement preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE required
• BSN required for international travelers
• License must be in-hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of Med/Surg specialties including cardiac, respiratory, GI, neuro, and orthopedic cases
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside regular patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online modules averaging 4-5 hours, included as part of non-billable orientation time
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC guidelines for respirator fit testing
• Candidates must complete a drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start and be available for retesting if needed
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration
