Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring prior travel experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7p-7a)
• Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with like patient populations
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• Telemetry experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, and management of various patient conditions
• Must complete all required training modules prior to start date, with access typically provided the Wednesday before start
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
• Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
