Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a heart hospital setting requiring 2 years of PACU/Pre-Post experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- PreOp/PACU role within a Level I trauma teaching hospital's heart hospital
- Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (8:00a-8:30p), with 4x10s (10a-8:30p) also considered
- Call requirements including every third-fourth weekend
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Cardiovascular surgical population including CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, EVAR, Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass, angiogram, pulmonary decortication, and ablation cases
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Pre/Post op experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- PACU experience preferred
- Level I trauma center and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Provide pre-op and post-op care for a complex cardiovascular and vascular surgical patient population
- Skills utilized include cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, wound vac care, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Familiarity with general anesthesia, MAC, and nerve blocks is beneficial
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
- Candidates must complete required Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, with specific arrangements based on distance from Ohio
- Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
