Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU position requiring at least 1 year of NICU experience and current RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Neonatal ICU of a hospital setting
  • Level IV NICU experience required
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active Oklahoma RN license or current multistate compact RN license required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
  • NRP certification (American Heart Association) required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care to a variety of NICU patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as necessary
  • Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families, including at time of discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Returning travelers may extend a maximum of one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
