Description

American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring BLS, PALS, and at least 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital setting
• Unit has 14-22 beds with staffing dependent on acuity and census
• Cares for pediatric patients requiring procedures such as cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, and lumbar punctures
• Manages seizure care and noninvasive cardiology cases
• Unit also supports neuro, ortho, general surgery, and thoracic cases including thoracotomy/thoracoscopy and pectus bar implants
• No neurosurgery, stroke, or foreign body airway removal cases handled on this unit
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Requires working 4 weekend days every 4 weeks
• No on-call requirements
• May float to NICU Level 1 or 2 units only

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent PICU experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Deliver pediatric critical care within a supportive, collaborative team environment where staff assist one another
• Scrub color/attire is royal blue
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
