Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the ICU/Critical Care unit of an acute care hospital
• Unit currently has 5 beds, soon expanding to a 10-bed ICU
• Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients, no pediatrics
• Common diagnoses include DKA, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, overdose, and psychiatric (suicidal ideation) cases
• Patient ratios of 2-3:1
• Uses ventilators, BiPAPs, IV drips, and glucometers
• Uses Medhost EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, totaling approximately 23 weekend hours
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care nursing experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Must clear Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric ICU patients with a variety of acute diagnoses
• Work alongside a supportive, close-knit team environment
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate consideration
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• Every other weekend coverage is required
