Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and an active Michigan RN license.
Details
- Work within the Surgical Services unit of a regional hospital offering full-service surgical care across cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, and neurosciences
- Support a full spectrum of surgical procedures ranging from general elective surgeries to critical or life-saving operations
- Day shift schedule, 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend call required on a rotating basis, including day call (7a-7p Sat/Sun) and night call (7p-7a Fri/Sat/Sun)
- On-call requirement includes one weeknight (Mon-Thu, 7p-11p) and one rotating weekend per month
- Holiday assignments required unless contracted off
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required at time of submission
- Compact license not accepted
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- 2+ years of RN Operating Room experience required
- Experience in Ortho, General, Endo-Vascular, Urology, or OB surgery preferred
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
- Michigan license verification (LARA and Nursys) required
Additional Information
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Hospital-provided scrubs required
- Strict attendance policy in place; more than 3 absences or late arrivals (20+ minutes) may result in immediate termination, though documented medical exceptions may be considered
- Local candidates within a 35-mile radius will be considered local travelers
- Former McLaren full-time employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
- No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
