Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Unit (CCU) position requiring 2 years of experience and a WV or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care setting within a Level 2 Trauma hospital
- 20-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU) treating a mix of COVID-19, cardiac (post-angioplasty), diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, and complicated bowel/belly surgery patients
- Approximately 30-50% of the patient population is COVID-19 positive
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
- Minimal to no floating expected outside of the ICU
- Block scheduling and 36/48 or 48-hour contracts will be considered
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- BSN not required
- EPIC experience preferred but not required
- Unexpired driver's license required for consideration
- EKG testing required as part of the facility's competency assessment
- False nails not permitted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing services to a high-acuity ICU patient population
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
- Local candidates within the radius are not eligible
- Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers are limited to a cumulative total of one year working within the WVU Medicine system before requiring a 2-year break
- All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
- Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per 13-week contract
