Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
- Care for cardiac patients including TAVR, CABG, cardiac drips, and post cath patients
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac/telemetry nursing experience required
- Experience caring for TAVR, CABG, cardiac drip, and post cath patients required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and peripheral line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with heparin protocols and titrating cardiac drips
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac nursing care on the unit
- Manage pacemakers, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery patients
- Perform wound care and wound vac management as needed
- Administer oxygen and provide non-invasive airway management
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday approved per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
