Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency in a high-acuity Birth Center.

Details

• ,antomartum, 3 ORs, 18 postpartum beds
• High-acuity patient population including hertension, prenesium administration, C-sections (33% rection rate), preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum care, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Unit averages up to 300 deliveries per month
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum depending on acuity
• Responsible for triaging OB patients, circulating in OR, performing cervical checks, and interpreting fetal monitoring strips
• May serve as second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda warmers, and Coviden SCDs
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) with weekend rotation every other weekend
• May float to Antepartum (within L&D) and occasionally Postpartum (4th floor) within scope and experience
• No mandatory on-call requirements, though open shifts may be available to pick up

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; candidates with previous travel experience and 5+ years preferred
• High-acuity OB experience required, including labor management and delivery of high-risk patients
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Support staff on the unit includes CNAs, LPN scrub techs (NRP certified), HUC/receptionist, floating charge nurse, resource RN (as staffing allows), and scheduled break nurses
• 24/7 respiratory therapy support available, including NICU RTs for high-risk deliveries
• 24/7 in-house laborist coverage along with residents, fellows, and additional physicians/midwives
• Anesthesia coverage scheduled during day shift and shared coverage after 1700
• Holiday coverage expected on a fair and equitable basis
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to contract approval
• Scrubs are facility-provided and must not be worn outside the facility
• Free badge-access parking provided in designated areas
• First-time travelers may be considered upon review
