Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day shift position requiring 3+ years of experience and current RRT certification at a tertiary, teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma designation.

Details

  • Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
  • Patient population is varied, including tertiary and teaching hospital cases with Level 1 trauma
  • Preferred experience with NICU/PICU cardiothoracic patients
  • Acute care patient ratio of 1:25 and critical care ratio of 1:8
  • Uses ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
  • EPIC EMR system used
  • Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Weekend hours required (approximately 36 hours unless otherwise noted)
  • On-call requirement with 2-hour notice for oncoming shift
  • Floating required as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care areas
  • 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed

Requirements

  • Active RRT license required (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience required
  • Tertiary and teaching hospital experience required
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • NRP certification required for NICU coverage
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy services across a variety of patient populations including adult, pediatric, and neonatal cases
  • Work as part of a collaborative respiratory therapy team covering the entire facility
  • Flexible scrub color or facility-provided scrubs
  • Candidates should be flexible, team-oriented, and demonstrate strong communication skills
  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension of contract
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
  • Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
