Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Cardiology position requiring an active AL or compact RN license and 2+ years of recent experience.

Details

• Work on the 2 West Med Surg/Cardiology unit in a 595-bed hospital setting
• Unit has 30 beds with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Care for pre and post-heart cath, med surg, and general cardiology patients (chest pain, hypertension, etc)
• Uses standard acute care equipment
• Charts in Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 18:45-07:15
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• First to float, including to like units and facilities within a 25 mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA only accepted)
• 2+ years of recent RN experience required
• Med Surg experience required, Cardiology experience preferred
• Acute care skills preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a mix of med surg and cardiology patients including pre/post-heart cath cases
• Navy scrub color required
• Must be flexible, dependable, and comfortable working with both staff and patients in a fast-paced environment
• Facility is recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, and surgical care
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
