Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care Therapy Services unit, requiring 1+ year of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
Details
- Acute Care Therapy Services unit within a hospital setting
- Primarily acute care with some opportunity for inpatient rehabilitation across different departments
- No outpatient responsibilities
- Day shift schedule with 4x9-hour variable shifts
- 36 hours per week over 4 days
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school required
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
- Minimum 1 year of related experience required, preferably in a medical or clinic setting
- Current state Occupational Therapy license required if applicable
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required and must not expire prior to start
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience preferred
- Experience with assistive equipment, splinting, and positioning mechanics
- Skills in perceptual activities, delegation, and supervision
Additional Information
- Provide assessment, treatment, and education in independent living, community reintegration, functional cognitive retraining, and upper extremity function
- Evaluate patients, establish treatment goals, and deliver skilled physical assessments and treatments
- Delegate and supervise students, assistants, and technicians within scope of authority
- Reassess patient progress and revise treatment plans and goals as needed
- Returning employees must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before becoming eligible for a new travel assignment
