Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a Pediatric setting requiring RRT credentialing within 12 months of hire and Oklahoma RCP licensure.

Details

• Respiratory Care department serving pediatric and all appropriate age level patients
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 26-week contract with guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
• Uses computerized medical record system for treatment documentation
• Serves as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire
• BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience required
• 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Previous experience in a children's only hospital preferred

Additional Information

• Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Acts as a resource person to medical staff
• Ensures respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patient populations served by the department
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates within the radius are not eligible for this position
• Returning workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
