Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a Pediatric setting requiring RRT credentialing within 12 months of hire and Oklahoma RCP licensure.
Details
- Respiratory Care department serving pediatric and all appropriate age level patients
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- 26-week contract with guaranteed 48 hours per week
- Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
- Uses computerized medical record system for treatment documentation
- Serves as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire
- BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire
- ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience required
- 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
- Previous experience in a children's only hospital preferred
Additional Information
- Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
- Acts as a resource person to medical staff
- Ensures respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
- Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records
- Provides age-appropriate care to all patient populations served by the department
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates within the radius are not eligible for this position
- Returning workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
